[01] Bank transfers list before House Committee on Institutions
A total of 6.000 people who transferred money out of Cyprus in
the beginning of March before bank restrictions were imposed by the
authorities following a bailout deal, are included in the list, which
the Central Bank gave to the House Committee on Institutions, Merit and
the Commissioner for Administration.
The list refers to bank transfers, which took place from March 1 to
15, 2013.
Chairman of the House Committee Demetris Syllouris told the press that
the list was revealed before the MPs, adding that the Parliamentarians
have expressed their disappointment and frustration because they were
not given all the data they demanded from the Central Bank. He said that
the data provided refer only to the period between 1-15 March.
[02] Noble seeks partner for development of Cyprus' block 12
US Noble's Energy Chairman Charles Davidson said on Tuesday the Houston
based company is looking for a partner in developing a natural gas field
in block 12 in Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone.
In a press conference in Nicosia, Davidson said that Noble has given the
Cypriot government the names of the prospective investors for the gas
field which exploratory drilling conducted in 2011 revealed a reservoir
between 5 and 8 trillion cubic feet (tcf) with a gross mean of 7 tcf.
"We have asked for a permission (from the Cypriot government) to
potentially secure an additional partner in the project similar to what
we are doing with export project in Leviathan in Israel," he said.
