Cooperation with Israel was never meant to be a front against Turkey,
Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides has said.
Speaking at a briefing of international press on Thursday and replying
to a question on Cyprus - Israeli relations after Israel's apology to
Turkey over the "Mavi Marmara" incident, Kasoulides said that "many
people have seen it wrongly that our cooperation with Israel and perhaps
the involvement of Greece also, that it was or was meant to be a front
against Turkey".
"It was not", he added, "and it was never meant to be. It has nothing
to do with it".
