[02] Dam capacity in Cyprus declines to 55%, says Agriculture Minister
The situation concerning Cyprus water reserves is borderline as dam
capacity declined to 55%, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources
and the Environment Andreas Kouyialis has said.
"We are in a borderline situation with regard to dam capacity," Kouyialis
said Saturday, noting that if the drought continues "there will be a
problem concerning water provided for irrigation purposes."
He pointed out that farmers that are supplied via the southern pipeline
will face problems and especially the farmers of the Famagusta area.
