  • [01] China fully respects territorial integrity of Cyprus, Deputy Chief of Mission tells CNA

China fully respects the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Cyprus and hopes that the two communities could find a solution that would end the suffering soon, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy Fei Sheng chao told CNA.

The Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy received Friday a delegation of the Women Organization of the Democratic Party (GODIK) headed by its chair and Member of the European Parliament Antigoni Papadopoulou.

The delegation handed over a petition to all permanent members of the UN Security Council and the Delegation of the European Commission in Cyprus, "strongly condemning the proclamation of the so-called ‘Turkish Republic of North Cyprus' on the occasion of its 30th anniversary". Receiving the delegation, the Chinese diplomat said that the Chinese position on the Cyprus issue "is clear and consistent".
