[01] Flights from Russia to Cyprus liberalizedThe Republic of Cyprus has succeeded through persistent efforts in liberalising chartered flights with Russia during the winter season.The liberalization of flights from Russia to Cyprus has been made possible after a relevant request submitted by Cyprus had been accepted by the Russian Federation. The agreement will be signed on Monday at the Ministry of Communications and Works in Nicosia. This development will benefit more the free Famagusta district, on the east coast of Cyprus, given that with the implementation of open skies policy the seasonal unemployment would be tackled. In statements to CNA, Minister of Communications and Works Tasos Mitsopoulos said that with the liberalization of flights practically we can tackle the problem of seasonality, bring more tourists on the island and keep the hotel units open. [02] FM to participate in the Summits of ASEM and CommonwealthMinister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides travels to India, to participate in the deliberations of the Ministerial Asia - Europe Meeting (ASEM), which will take place between 11-12 November in New Delhi.According to an official announcement , issues on the agenda of ASEM will include, inter alia, the economic cooperation and sustainable development between the countries of Europe and Asia, matters related to international security with particular emphasis on efforts to combat terrorism and to address cyber threats, as well as other regional issues. During his intervention, Minister Kasoulides will express Cyprus' positions on water and energy security, as well as counter terrorism policies. In the context of ASEM, Minister Kasoulides will hold bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of India and Bangladesh, and the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Myanmar and Thailand.
