[01] Spokesman: Government absolutely committed to preserving the
independence of Central Bank
President Nikos Anastasiades and the Government are absolutely committed
to preserving the independence of all institutions and therefore of
the Central Bank, said in a written statement, Government Spokesman
Christos Stylianides.
"As far as the Central Bank concerns, all actions of the government are
fully harmonized with the Constitution of the Republic, the European
acquis and of course, the rules of the Eurosystem", said Stylianides. He
added that the Government has no issues with European officials, with
whom the Government is in constant contact and consultation at the
highest level.
