Cypriot tennis player Marcos Baghdatis is through to the third round
of the US Open for the first time in eight appearances after dismissing
No. 17 seed Kevin Anderson 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 at Flushing Meadows on Friday
night. For a place in the fourth round, Marcos will face Stanislas
Wawrinka, who edged Ivo Karlovic 7-5, 7-6(8), 6-4. Marcos will look
to beat the Swiss for the first time in three attempts when they clash
on Sunda.
