[01] Annual Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade drops by 4.8% in May
The annual Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade dropped by 4,8% or 6.2
units in May compared to the same month of the 2012, Statistical Service
data released on Wednesday shows.
The Index for May 2013 came to 122.0 units, recording an increase of
10.8 units or 9.7% compared to 111.2 units in April 2013. For the period
January-May 2013 the Index dropped by 8.6% compared to the corresponding
period of 2012.
[02] Overseas Cypriots to meet in Cyprus on 21-22 August
The 17th meeting of the International Conference of Overseas Cypriots
(POMAK-PSEKA), together with the conference of the Executive Council of
the Organization of Young Overseas Cypriots (NEPOMAK), will be held in
Nicosia, on 21-22 August at the "Filoxenia" Conference Center.
According to an official press release, President of the Republic Nicos
Anastasiades will declare the opening of the conferences on 21 August. The
opening ceremony will also be addressed by the President of the House
of Representatives Yiannakis Omirou, Archbishop Chrysostomos II, the
Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Affairs of Overseas
Cypriots Kaitie Clerides, the Presidents of POMAK, PSEKA, and NEPOMAK,
Haris Sophoclides, Philip Christopher and Christos Karaolis respectively,
and the Director of the Division of Overseas and Repatriated Cypriots
Marios Ieronymides. Overseas Cypriots will give a press conference on
the results of their meeting on 23 August, at the "Filoxenia" Conference
Center.
