treatment issues
The European Commission is distancing itself from the serious problems
created after the depositors' haircut in Cypriot banks, and especially
with regard to the "unequal treatment of depositors", Cypriot MEP Antigoni
Papadopoulou said.
According to an announcement, European Commissioner for economic and
monetary affairs Olli Rehn, in reply to a question by Papadopoulou,
said that concerns regarding unequal treatment of depositors should be
addressed to the competent authorities in Cyprus.
In her question to the European Commission, the MEP asked the Commission
for its position vis-à-vis equal treatment issues that may arise from
the way the "haircut" was implemented on depositors.
