[01] Agreement signed between Cyprus and International Organisation
for Migration
A cooperation agreement between the Republic of Cyprus and the
International Organisation for Migration was signed on Monday in Geneva.
An official statement said the Agreement provides for the opening of
an IOM office in Cyprus which will implement programmes concerning
immigration, like granting assistance in capacity building, advisory
and technical services and other issues.
The agreement was signed in the framework of the Ministry of Interior's
efforts for a more effective handling of immigration and pointing out
its advantages whilst handling the problems that may arise.
