[01] Third member of CMP to assume duties soonThe third member of the Committee for Missing Persons (CMP), Paul Henri Arni from Switzerland, is expected to assume his duties soon, probably within this week, President of the Parliamentary Committee on Refugees and Missing Persons Skevi Koutra Koukouma has said.Speaking on the occasion of today's Cyprus Missing Persons Day, Koukouma expressed hope that procedures aiming to ascertain the fate of missing persons will be speeded up. Moreover, the Cypriot MP said that the CMP Anthropological Laboratory has employed two more anthropologists, as well as two experienced geneticists who will train their younger colleagues. [02] Industrial output prices index up by 0.4% in SeptemberIndustrial output prices index recorded an increase of 0.4% in September compared to the previous month.According to Cyprus Statistical Service data published on Tuesday, the index reached in September 140.1 units (base 2005=100). Between January and September 2012, the index recorded an increase of 7.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. [03] Strong international line-up confirmed for Cyprus RallyWith just days to go until this year's much-anticipated Cyprus Rally, the organizers have confirmed a strong line-up for what promises to be a memorable late-season event.Taking place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th November, the Cyprus Rally is once again being organized by the Cyprus Automobile Association (CAA) and will serve as both the season closer of the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), and the penultimate round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC), a press release issued here on Tuesday said. An impressive roster of international, regional and national drivers will take to Friday's start ramp, all looking to secure ever-important points, particularly the IRC competitors who will be looking to take advantage of the event's co-efficient 2 status to double whatever points they win. [04] Swedish parliamentary delegation meets House PresidentA delegation of the European Affairs Committee of the Swedish Parliament congratulated the Cyprus EU Presidency on the handling of difficult issues, such as the negotiations for the Multiannual Financial Framework.According to an official announcement, the parliamentary delegation, under its President Allan Widman, is visiting Cyprus in the framework of the Cyprus EU Presidency and met here on Tuesday with House President Yiannakis Omirou. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the financial situation in the EU, the Cyprus problem and Turkey's threats against the activities of the Republic of Cyprus within its Exclusive Economic Zone.
