[02] Greek Minister: Limassol Declaration gives added value to IMP

The Limassol Declaration gives added value to the Integrated Maritime Policy of the EU, Greek Minister of Shipping and the Aegean Costis Mousouroulis has said.

Addressing the EU Informal Council on the Integrated Maritime Policy, Mousouroulis noted that the Limassol Declaration outlines the framework in clear terms and allows the European Commission to take financially backed legislative initiatives.

Mousouroulis pointed out the need for training in the shipping sector, strengthening cooperation in new initiatives, such as maritime and coastal planning, and developing technologies for the safe and viable exploitation of maritime mineral deposits, according to the provisions and requirements of international maritime law.
