[01] New FinMin to attend the Parliamentary Finance Committee meeting
Newly appointed Minister of Finance Vassos Shiarlis will attend the
Parliamentary Committee of Financial and Budgetary Affairs meeting
on Monday.
In its first appearance before the Finance Committee, Shiarlis, who
assumed the Finance Ministry portfolio on Friday March 23 after the
resignation of Kikis Kazamias for health reasons, will exchange views
with the Committee members on the issues the Cypriot economy is facing.
The new Finance Minister will table his views on the prospects of the
economy as well as more pressing issues such as the recapitalization
of the Cypriot commercial banks following the haircut of the Greek
sovereign debt.
