[01] Government ready to support Cypriot banks
Minister of Finance Kikis Kazamis has reiterated the government’s
readiness to boost the capital base of Cypriot banks, noting that the
government has prepared a comprehensive action plan in cooperation with
the Central Bank of Cyprus.
He also expressed confidence in the Board of Directors of Cypriot Banks,
noting that the action plans which have been prepared to boost their
capital base are realistic.
Kazamias noted in a speech, read out by the Ministry of Finance Director
of Financing and Investments, during a Seminar in Nicosia, Kazamias
stressed that the economic crisis has affected the Cypriot economy and
especially its growth rate, especially in the sectors of constructions
and tourism
