Cyprus President Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis
Eroglou will attend a working dinner on Thursday at the residence of
the UNSG`s Special Representative in Cyprus, Liza Buttenheim, in the
United Nations Protected Area in Nicosia.
The dinner will begin at 2000 local time. In statements after a meeting
he had on Wednesday with President Christofias UN Secretary Generals
Special Adviser for Cyprus Alexander Downer said: ``We had social
dinners from time to time, this time it is a working dinner and we will
focus on the way forward.
UN-backed direct negotiations for a solution to the Cyprus problem
began in September 2008. Cyprus has been divided since 1974 when Turkey
invaded and occupied its northern third.
