[01] GREEK FM TURKEY MASS CONDEMNATION
The Greek Foreign Ministry has condemned the interruption, by the
Turkish military, of Christmas mass, in a Greek Cypriot village in
northern Turkish occupied Cyprus.
The Spokesman of the Greek Foreign Ministry, Gregoris Delavekouras,
described on Monday the Turkish action as Ťa severe violation of the
human rights of Greek Cypriot enclaved persons of Karpasia, which
reveals the real face of the occupation regime, exposing those who back
the regime and attempt to underscore the status of the regime.
He also noted that ``the unacceptable negative moves of the occupation
regime do not contribute to the creation of a climate that would
facilitate progress in the negotiations and the achievement of a
mutually acceptable solution of the Cyprus problem``.
On Christmas Day, Turkish occupation forces and the illegal Turkish
Cypriot regime stopped a religious service in the Turkish-occupied
village of Rizoparpasso, where Christian Orthodox Cypriots continue to
live under Turkish occupation.
