    EU Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council will discuss among other issues this week the negative repercussions of the Turkish restrictions on the EU-Cyprus maritime transports and the free movement of goods.

    An official press release issued here said that Cyprus Communications and Works Ministry has prepared a document that has already been circulated as an official document of the Council, which refers to the background regarding Turkeys restrictive measures and their negative repercussions on both Cyprus and the EU.

    Communications and Worlks Minister Erato Kozakou Markoulli will leave Cyprus on Wednesday for Brussels to attend the Council meeting.

    [02] EU - CYPRUS - ESI

    The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) has improved significantly in Cyprus according to the monthly Business and Consumer survey results released by the EU Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs.

    According to the survey results, in November the ESI improved further in both the EU and the euro area. The indicator increased strongly, climbing by 1.3 points to 105.2 in the EU and by 1.5 points to 105.3 in the euro area.

    In Cyprus, the Indicator rose from 88.4 points in October to 96.5 points in November.

    [03] CYPRUS - CHINA - HEALTH AGREEMENT

    Cyprus Health Minister Christos Patsalides and his Chinese counterpart Li Xi, have signed a Plan of Action for the cooperation on health between Cyprus and China for the period 2011-2015.

    The Agreement provides for cooperation and exchange of visits of expertise in several areas of health, such as Thalassemia, environmental health, mental health and traditional Chinese medicine such as the acupuncture. Also, it provides for cooperation on traditional medicine, public health, medical education and medical technology.

    Our relations with China are very important and our decision is to enhance these relations in all areas, Cyprus Minister said after the meeting. Patsalides referred to his visit last year in China, and the opportunity to provide assistance on the area of Thalassemia, in which China faces a significant problem
