The Cyprus News Agency (CNA) has been accepted as a new member of the Association of News Agencies in the Balkan Peninsula (ABNA), which has been recently expanded to national news agencies in South-East Europe.

CNAs entry was approved last Saturday, during the Associations General Assembly hosted by the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. The national news agency of Croatia, HINA, also joined the Association.

CNA is also member of the World Congress of News Agencies (WCNA), the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) and the Mediterranean Alliance of News Agencies (AMAN). CNA has the post of the Secretary General of AMAN for the past ten years.
