[01] CYPRIOT VOLUNTEER DOCTORS - ZIMBABWE
Honorary President of the non-governmental organization Volunteer
Doctors - Cyprus, Cypriot MEP Eleni Theocharous, has assured that the
members of the organization will do their outmost to effectively
address problems as aids and unemployment at Chikombekzi region in
Zimbabwe.
Theocharous who is now on a mission in Zimbabwe along with other four
members of the organization said that Cypriot volunteer doctors are
working to achieve these goals by extending the plantations, setting up
apiaries and by providing sex education.
Theocharous also referred to the poor infrastructure at the region, as
there are no roads and power supply, and hospitals can only provide
first aid services for urgent cases, noting that she has already
conducted two operations at a hospital there.
She also noted that Cypriot volunteer doctors have been visiting the
region during the last 15 years and have good relations with its
inhabitants, who are aware of the help offered by the Cypriot people
and government.
