[01] LEADERS - CYPRUS TALKS
President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias and Turkish
Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat will be meeting on Monday, in the
context of direct negotiations to solve the Cyprus problem, to begin
discussions on the chapter concerning territories.
During their last meeting on June 11, the leaders of the two
communities in Cyprus came closer to an agreement on the Limnitis
issue, a crossing point, the opening of which will facilitate movement
to and from the northern Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus.
They also concluded discussions on the chapter on the economy and on
Monday the two sides will give their reactions to the introductory
statements on territory.
