[01] HEALTH MINISTRY - H1NI - NEGATIVE RESULTS
An initial test at a person who was on the same aircraft with the
foreign women, living in Cyprus, who has been infected with the HINI
flu virus, was negative, head of the Committee for handling issues
concerning H1N1 flu Chrystalla Hadjianastasiou has said.
Hadjianastasiou also said that the state of health of the female
foreigner is very good. ``During the next days when all the symptoms
will pass she can go home,`` she said.
Hadjianastasiou noted that the initial results from the Limassol
Hospital Laboratory for the second person were negative, adding that
the authorities are expecting the final results of tests from the Greek
Pasteur Institute.
[02] GSSE - OPENING CEREMONY
The sun, sea and nature of Cyprus will be the focal points at the
Opening Ceremony of the XIII Games of the Small States of Europe
(GSSE), which will be enriched with the musical tradition of the
island.
Other aspects of the Opening Ceremony include the lighting of the altar
with a flame that will burn throughout the Games, the entrance of the
flag of the Games, the oath of athletes and judges and the official
opening of the Games by the President of the Republic, Dimitris
Christofias.
State leaders as well as officials of the Olympic Movement, World and
European Federations will be present at the Opening Ceremony.
Cypriot composer Vasos Argyrides is the Cultural Director of the GSSE
Ceremonies. The Opening Ceremony set to begin at 21:00 hours on 1 June
at the GSP Sports Complex, will also feature the world-renowned Greek
tenor,Mario Frangoulis.
