    Joan Ryan, UK Governments Special Envoy for Cyprus, expressed support for recently established ``Cypriots 4 Cyprus`` (C4C), stressing that the intercommunal campaign group has a crucial role to play during efforts to reunify the island.

    According to a press release, issued by C4C, in a recent meeting with C4C Steering Group members, Ryan stressed that it was up to Cypriots themselves to come together and demonstrate, though their actions and activities how Cypriots from all backgrounds can work together towards common goals.

    Ryan also assured C4C that the UK government is doing its utmost to ensure that Turkey will be supportive of a solution in Cyprus.

    Whenever I, the Prime Minister or British Ministers or officials meet with our counterparts from Turkey, we always press the case for Cyprus, Ryan said and added: We all have an interest in reuniting Cyprus. It is in Turkeys European interests to support a solution and we will continue to encourage and support efforts by all parties to achieve this, Ryan concluded.

    With more than 1250 members, Cypriots 4 Cyprus represents Cypriots of all linguistic and religious backgrounds and is committed to a solution for Cyprus for all Cypriots.
