[01] PARTY CONSULTATIONS - BALLOT PAPERS PRINTEDConsultations among political parties and between the parties and the two presidential hopefuls in Sundays run off elections have begun, as the Central Election Commission is preparing in earnest for the second and final round of presidential elections.The printing of ballot papers with the two candidates running in the second round of the presidential elections in the Republic of Cyprus has already started and these will be ready for delivery by Wednesday, according to the Commission. Deputy Chief Returning Officer Demetris Demetriou told CNA today he expects the final results of Sundays elections to be announced in the afternoon. ``I am sure that we will finish very early but to be on the safe side I would say by 2000 (1800 GMT), he added. Work at the Printing Office of the Republic is in process and ballot papers for 24th February are already printed and are now being cut, folded and packed ready to be delivered to the Returning Officers. [02] CYPRUS AIRWAYS FLIGHTS - DISRUPTEDThe bad weather conditions in Greece have affected seriously Cyprus Airways scheduled flights as one of the airlines jets which was to carry out a flight to London was stranded at snow-covered Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, in the Greek capital.Cyprus Airways Spokesman Kyriacos Kyriacou said two flights to Athens, scheduled for 0700 and 0930 were delayed as well as flight CY 504 which was scheduled from Larnaca to London via Paphos. He said CY has hired an aircraft from chartered airline Eurocypria, which belongs to the CY group, and the flight will depart for Paphos at 1100 and at 1130 from Paphos to London. According to Kyriacou, it is uncertain whether the flights to Athens, scheduled at 1600 (CY336) and 1930 (CY348) will be carried out according to the set schedule. [03] JEAN MONNET EUROPEAN CENTRE CYPRUS UNIVERSITYOne of the Jean Monnet European Centres of Excellence worldwide, that will open during the academic year 2007-2008, belongs to the University of Cyprus and will open its gates officially on February 26, 2008.A press release issued by the University said that the aim of the Centre is that citizens become familiar with the institutions and functions of the EU, studying European policies and the promotion of national, as well as international cooperation and activities. The Centre has been founded in the framework of Jean Monnet programme after a decision taken by the European Commission which is its main sponsor.
