    Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos has arrived in Portugal, where today European Union heads of state and government will sign the Treaty of Lisbon.

    The ceremony of the signature of the Treaty of Lisbon, will take place at the Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon. The ceremony starts at 1130 and the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pottering and the President of the European Council, Jose Socrates, will all deliver speeches.

    The signing of the Treaty of Lisbon is scheduled for 1215 and approximately one hour later the European leaders will meet for the traditional family photo.

    The ceremony ends with a lunch at Museu dos Coches, hosted by the Portuguese President.
