[01] HOUSE PRESIDENT - BRUSSELS
The President of the House of Representatives Demetris Christofias
departs for Brussels on Tuesday on a two-day visit.
Christofias will have a meeting with the President of the Commission
Jose Manuel Barroso and the President of the European Parliament
Hans-Gert Pettering. He will also meet Commissioner for Enlargement
Olli Rehn and Commissioner for Health Marcos Kyprianou.
The House President will have separate meetings with presidents of
political groups at the European Parliament. He will meet President of
GUE/NGL Francis Wurtz, President of PSE Group Martin Schultz, President
of ALDE Graham Watson and President of UEN Brian Crowley. House
President returns to Cyprus on Thursday.
[02] CYPRIOT MPs - FRENCH SENATE
A Cypriot parliamentary delegation will be flying to Paris on Monday on
an official visit, at the invitation of the Chairman of the
France-Cyprus Friendship Group in the French Senate Andre Rouviere.
The delegation comprises Cypriot MPs Demetris Syllouris, Takis
Hadjigeorgiou, Georgios Tassou, Athena Kyriakidou and George Varnava.
According to a press release, the delegation will be received by
President of the French Senate Christian Poncelet and will have a
series of meetings with officials from the legislative and executive
authority.
