    Cypriot firemen, forest firefighters and Civil Defence members will be assisting their Greek colleagues on Tuesday in combating fires raging in Andritsena in Peloponnesus and Mount Seta in Euboea.

    Assistant Director of Cyprus` Fire Department and chief of mission Marcos Trangolas has told CNA that the fourth Cypriot mission to Greece comprises 30 firemen and 22 volunteer rescuers, who have been briefed by the district fire department chief on the area they are about to tackle.

    Trangolas said the mission would attempt to extinguish the blazing fronts and assist in evacuating villages, whenever necessary. He added that there were three huge fronts in Peloponnesus, those of Andritsena, Crestena and Foloi.

    [02] LARNACA - INDIAN SHIPS

    Three Indian naval ships will be visiting Larnaca Port from 15 to 20 September 2007. All ships form part of the 1st Training Squadron Based at Kochi, India, under the aegis of the Indian Navy`s Southern Naval Command.

    According to a press release issued by the High Commission of India, the INS Tarangini, the Indian Navy`s sole sail training ship, will be visiting Larnaca from 16 to 20 September 2007 and it will be open for visitors from 17 to 19 September 2007.
