[01] CNA PHOTOGRAPHER WINS AMANS BEST PHOTO COMPETITION
Cyprus News Agency (CNA) photographer Katia Christodoulou has won the
best photo competition of 2006 organised by the Alliance of
Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN).
The photograph depicts the drama of thousands of Lebanese refugees who
fled to Cyprus after the Israeli invasion of Lebanon last summer.
Christodoulou received the first prize during the 16th General Assembly
of the Alliance, held in Algiers on 26 June. An honorary diploma was
handed over to Christodoulou by the Director General of the Algerian
Press Agency (APS) Nacer Mehal, who assumed the Presidency of the
Alliance for the next year.
