[01] HOUSE PRESIDENT - CYPRUS QUESTION
Cyprus House President Demetris Christofias expressed hope that the
position of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council on
the July 8 Agreement, as expressed at a press release issued after a
meeting of their Ambassadors in Cyprus, constitutes the official
position of the international organization, without any concession due
to the Turkish sides pretexts.
Christofias briefed a delegation of the Commonwealth Parliamentary
Association Executive Committee, which will convene in Cyprus April
17-20.
The House President said the Indian head of the Executive Committee
showed great interest in the situation in Cyprus and the developments
in the Cyprus question and took a very positive position in favour of
the struggle of the Cyprus people to reunite their country and people,
on the basis of the UN resolutions, the international and the European
law.
