[01] NIKIFOROS 2006 - REGISTRATION
Cypriot Minister of Defence Nicos Symeonides and National Guard Chief
of Staff Lieutenant General Constantinos Bisbikas expressed their
satisfaction over the willingness of the reserve commandos to
participate in the National Guard military exercise ``Nikiforos
2006``.
Both the Minister and the Chief said the reserve commandos and the
territorial guards were the ``backbone`` of the National Guard.
In statements at Stavrovouni, where Symeonides and Bisbikas observed
the registration of the reserve commandos, the Minister expressed the
gratitude of the state for the willingness of the reservists to
participate in ``Nikiforos 2006``.
