The Cypriot Members of the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP)
met today with the new third member of CMP Christophe Girod, who has
already met with the leaders of the two communities, namely President
of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet
Ali Talat.
According to a CMP press release, Girod also visited a potential burial
site currently being investigated.
``The emergency excavation work is being carried out in the Paralimni
area because of impeding construction work, which is due to begin in
the area. An emergency exhumation was previously carried out in the
Mesaoria area,`` it adds.
