Spokesman: Turkey has to implement Customs Union with Cyprus
Nicosia, Sept 3 (CNA) -- The Republic of Cyprus expects from Turkey to
implement the Protocol extending its Customs Union and to lift all
obstacles against Cyprus, Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides
has stressed, adding that in the event there is no implementation of
the Protocol, Turkey's accession negotiations will not start.
The Spokesman, who yesterday held a meeting with US Congress staffers,
noted that the implementation, and not just the signing of the Customs
Union Protocol, is of high importance.
