    Nicosia, Jul 23 (CNA) -- Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos has send a message of solidarity to his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak expressing his indignation regarding todays terrorist attacks at the Sharm el Sheikh resort in Egypt.

    ''At these critical moments when the ugly face of terrorism struck the friendly state of Egypt, I express the solidarity of the Government and the people of Cyprus as well as my condolences and deep sympathy to the families of the victims'', President Papadopoulos states in his message.

    Cypriot President: Visit to Britain, chance to improve relations

    Larnaca, Jul 23 (CNA) -- Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos departed today for an official visit to Britain, where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday afternoon.

    In statements at the Larnaca Airport upon his departure for the british capital, President Papadopoulos said that during the talks with Blair they would discuss the Cyprus problem, European issues, as well as aspects concerning their bilateral ties and their cooperation in the efforts to combat terrorism.

    FM: No Cypriot victims reported so far in Sharm el Sheikh

    Larnaca, Jul 23 (CNA) -- Cypriot Foreign Minister George Iacovou said that until now no Cypriots are included in the list of victims from todays terrorist attacks at the Sharm el Sheikh resort in Egypt.

    «There are around 200 Cypriot tourists in the area, as well as others who are in other Egyptian resorts. Until now we have no information about any Cypriot victims'', he said.

    Cypriot Foreign Minister to meet Rice in Washington on Monday

    Larnaca, Jul 23 (CNA) ----- Cypriot Foreign Minister George Iacovou departed today for the US where on Monday he will meet with US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

    In statements upon his departure to the US, Iacovou expressed the opinion that most possibly this September a UN Secretary General's representative will visit Cyprus to promote the efforts for the resumption of a Cyprus dialogue.

    House President expresses solidarity to Egyptian counterpart

    Nicosia, Jul 23 (CNA) -- Cyprus House President Demetris Christofias sent today a message to his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Fathi Sorour expressing his sorrow regarding today's terrorist attack in the Egyptian resort of Sharm El Sheikh.

    ''On behalf of all members of the House of Representatives and myself, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and my condolences to the families of the victims. We condemn this heinous act, and we express our solidarity to the Parliament, the government and the friendly people of Egypt in these times of pain and loss'', the message says.
