Speaking to reporters after briefing the UN Security Council on his recent visit to Nicosia, Athens and Ankara, Sir Kieran said there is a substantial gap between the two parties in Cyprus, the Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot side, while mutual confidence is not high, and that UN Chief Kofi Annan ''will maneuver somewhere between those two extremes.''
