Responding to questions, he explained that the claim was sent to the Court today, in accordance to its recommendation of 6 April in relation to this case, which the Court said it would hear. Myra Xenidi Aresti, whose property lies in the fenced area of Famagusta town, occupied by Turkish troops since 1974, is also claiming compensation for moral damages and court costs. Commenting on Turkish demands, as they were set out in a letter to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan by Turkey's Permanent Representative to the UN, Karoyan said that until recently Turkish officials and the Turkish Cypriot side were saying that they are interested in the reunification of Cyprus the soonest possible, noting however that ''after the initiatives our side took, which started some months ago and brought concrete results over the past few weeks, there was a change in direction.'' Andreas Nicolaou Michael, 30, from Kolossi, Limassol, stabbed on 13 July 2004 to death Salih Mehmet Ozhovarda, son of a Roma family, while the boy was playing with his friends on a dock at the southern town of Limassol.
