Weather forecast for Cyprus

Nicosia, Mar 10 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Friday and Saturday: 11/03/2005 to 12/03/2005 ---------------------------------------- Weather: On Friday the weather will be cloudy at times with thundery showers and snowfalls over mountains.

On Saturday the weather will be locally partly cloudy with isolated showers and snoafalls over mountains at firtst improving soon.

WIND: W'ly and SW'ly fresh to strong.

STATE OF SEA: Moderate to rough.

Temperature: Maximum temperature 15C inland, 17C over the coasts and 4C over Prodromos. Minimum temperature 4-7C inland, 7-10 over the coasts and -2 over Prodromos.

Outlook for Sunday and Monday: 13/03/2005 to 14/03/2005 ------------------------------- On Sunday, the weather will be mainly fine with patchy cloud around midday. The temperature is expected to note a small increase.

On Monday, the weather will be mainly fine at first becoming later partly cloudy with probability of isolated showers in the afternoon. No signigicant change in temperature.

Nicosia, Mar 10 (CNA) -- The Pancyprian Committee for the Missing Persons has stressed that the missing persons issue should be an inviolable condition for Turkey starting accession negotiations with the European Union.

Nicosia, Mar 10 (CNA) - Cypriot Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides has described as a non-European attitude a reaction by the Turkish Presidency to cancel an official visit to Finland because the Cypriot Ambassador in Helsinki was also invited to a banquet in his honour and also because the EU criticised police intervention in a recent demonstration in Constantinople.
