    Christofias and Talat agree to resume dialogue

    Nicosia, Mar 8 (CNA) -- Left-wing AKEL General Secretary Demetris Christofias and Republican Turkish Party (RTP) leader Mehmet Ali Talat agreed here today to resume dialogue between the two parties with a view to create the conditions that will be conducive to resume the UN-led talks for a comprehensive settlement to the Cyprus problem.

    Papadopoulos determined to continue supporting the Cypriot woman

    Nicosia, Mar 8 (CNA) -- Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos pledged here today that his government would continue its support for policies and projects that promote equality as a fundamental principle of democracy, the acquis communautaire and our political civilization.

    Addressing a special gathering to mark international women's day, Papadopoulos paid tribute to the Cypriot woman, whom he described as ''the anonymous heroine and witness of the Cypriot political tragedy who have not received their laurels.''
