    Cyprus seeks ways to cooperate with Malta on research & technology

    Valetta, Feb 18 (CNA) -- Cyprus Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism George Lillikas has expressed the islands interest to exploit practical ways to cooperate with Malta in the fields of research and technology.

    Speaking here before members of the Maltese Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, business organisations and trade unions, Lillikas said there can be no doubt that Cyprus and Malta share a lot of similarities and common interests and therefore there is substantial scope for further improvement and deepening of the economic links of the two countries.

    Lillikas said the two axes of Cyprus economic strategy is fiscal consolidation and long-term fiscal sustainability and to accelerate economic growth and competitiveness in the spirit of Lisbon Strategy.
