    Larnaca, Dec 13 (CNA) -- Foreign Ministers from the European Union 25 member states are meeting Monday in Brussels in an attempt to iron out differences over the wording of the EU summit conclusions with regard to the start of accession negotiations with Turkey.

    Weather forecast for Cyprus

    Nicosia, Dec 13 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 14/12/2004 to 15/12/2004 ------- On Tuesday, the weather will gradually become partly cloudy. The wind will prevail northwest to southwest moderate 3 to 4 bf while during afternoon it will veer to southwest to west. State of sea will be slight. During nightime the weather will be cloudy and light rainshowers are likely. The wind will be light northwest to northeast 2 to 3 bf.

    On Wednesday, the weather will be cloudy with rainshowers and probable thunderstorms while snowshowers are likely over Troodos. The wind will be northeast moderate 3 to 4 bf and the state of sea slight but moderate over the eastern coastal areas. The minimum temperature on Tuesday will range from minus 1 over the mountains to 7 degrees C over the coastal areas and the maximum from 5 over the mountains to 18 over the coastal areas.

    A temperature decrease is expected on Wednesday when ground frost will occur inland.

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 16/12/2004 to 17/12/2004 --------------- The weather on Thursday will be mainly fine but an odd showers is possible. The temperature will note a further decrease. On Friday the weather will be mainly fine and cold.

    Nicosia, Dec 13 (CNA) -- The Cyprus government has done everything necessary with regard to issues the Republic has raised in connection with a European Union decision on whether it should begin accession negotiations with Turkey, Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides said today.

    Government Spokesman: European Court has ruled on property

    Nicosia, Dec 13 (CNA) -- Issues relating to properties in Turkish occupied Cyprus have been dealt with by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides has said, in response to Turkish Cypriot claims that the government is trying to revoke title deeds from residents in the north.

    ''Serdar Denktash neglects the fact that there are decisions by international courts that define the status of properties of displaced persons and other owners in Turkish occupied Cyprus,'' the spokesman said, commenting on Denktash's claims that foreigners have always been buying property in occupied Cyprus and now the Greek Cypriot side is trying to annul their title deeds.

    AKEL and BDH to intensify their actions towards a Cyprus settlement

    Nicosia, Dec 13 (CNA) ---- Greek Cypriot left - wing party AKEL General Secretary Demetris Christofias and leader of the Turkish Cypriot Peace and Democracy Movement (BDH) Mustafa Akkinzi met here today and decided to intensify their actions with a view to promote a bicommunal, bizonal settlement of the Cyprus problem based on the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan's plan for a comprehensive settlement.

    Christofias and Akkinzi, who met in AKEL's headquarters in Nicosia, also decided to promote the arrangement of certain issues such as the humanitarian problem of missing persons and the opening of new crossing points to facilitate contacts between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.

    AKEL General Secretary said that during the meeting they also discussed the upcoming European Council and expressed the wish that ''conditions will be created and problems will be overcome so that within the framework of consensus Turkey will get a date to start accession negotiations, with both Erdogan (Turkish Prime Minister) and Papadopoulos (Cypriot President) being satisfied, so that a new era will begin and a new way will be paved to solve the Cyprus problem''.

    Greek Premier and DISY leader coordinate action ahead of EPP meeting

    Athens, Dec 13 (CNA) ---- Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis and President of Greek Cypriot right wing party Democratic Rally (DISY) Nicos Anastasiades agreed today that every possible effort should be made, so that specific references are included in the European Council's final conclusions on December 17 to link Turkey's European course with the Cyprus problem and promote the aim for full normalization of the relations between Cyprus and Turkey.

    A press release issued by DISY said Karamanlis and Anastasiades agreed today on a common framework of positions and principles that they will highlight at the European People's Party (EPP) meeting, that is due to take place in Brussels before the European Council.
