[01] EU rules for Green Line enters into force1020:CYPPRESS:01EU rules for Green Line enters into force Nicosia, Aug 23 (CNA) -- EU specific rules for the movement of goods across the Green Line, dividing the Cyprus Republic, into the northern Turkish occupied areas and the southern government controlled part, entered into force today. According to a press release issued last Friday by the European Commission Representation in Nicosia, the rules provide for trade across the Green Line in wholly obtained goods but also in trade for manufactured goods originating in the northern part of Cyprus. This was stated by the head of the European Commission's Representation in Nicosia, Adriaan van der Meer, who expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the rules, noting that the first eight applications were submitted to the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce which is authorised to issue the relevant documents.
