Cypriot volunteers excel in Olympic Games

Athens, Aug 18 (CNA) -- It maybe that the Cypriot athletes and their performances are the centre of the attention in the Cypriot mass media, however, in Athens, a number of Cypriot volunteers are excelling in the backstage of the Olympic Games in Athens, contributing to the Games success.

More than 500 Cypriots act as volunteers in various sports facilities.

Ten Cypriot policemen with their specially trained dogs, help their Greek colleagues in the sensitive field of security.

EDON and RTP youth section express concerns about chauvinism

Nicosia, Aug 18 (CNA) -- The latest developments in the Cyprus problem were at the epicenter of today's meeting between delegations of EDON, the youth section of Greek Cypriot leftwing party AKEL, and the Turkish Cypriot Republican Turkish Party's youth section, which expressed their common concern for the raising of chauvinism in both sides.
