Over 30.000 Cypriots in Athens for Olympic Games, COC President says

Nicosia, Aug 9 (CNA) -- Cyprus Olympic Committee President Kikis Lazarides, who is also member of the International Olynmpic Committee, has said the interest of Cypriots for this month's Olympic Games in Athens has surpassed all expectations.

In an interview with CNA Lazarides, who traveled to Athens Saturday, said that more than 30,000 Cypriots will be in Athens during the Olympic Games.

Weather forecast for Cyprus

Nicosia, Aug 9 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Tuesday and Wednesday: 10/8/2004 to 11/8/2004 ---------------------- On Tuesday, the weather will be fine with some local clouds. On Wednesday there will be more cloud over the mountains in the afternoon when a few outbreaks of rain showers are likely. The winds will be fresh southwesterly and the sea slight to moderate. Temperatures rainging from 22 to 36 inland and from 22 to 32 on the coast.

Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 12/8/2004 to 13/8/2004 ------------------------------- Remaining much the same.
