Speaking at a press conference, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment Timis Efthymiou said the Griffon vulture came from an egg laid in Limassol zoo, which eight days afterwards was taken to an incubator for the 54-day incubation period. The minister said the young vulture was ready to return to the zoo where his natural parents live to get acquainted with them before being let free in the wild. [06] President Papadopoulos bestows state medal on French Senator1500:CYPPRESS:06President Papadopoulos bestows state medal on French Senator Nicosia, Jun 25 (CNA) -- Andre Rouviere, chairman of the French-Cypriot friendship group at the French Senate, was awarded today the Grand Commander of the Order of the Merit of the Republic of Cyprus for his firm and long support over the years to the cause of the Cypriot people to end the division of their country. The medal was awarded by Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos at a special ceremony at the Presidential Palace during which Papadopoulos reiterated his determination to continue working for a just and viable settlement and expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for Rouviere's solidarity to the struggle of the people of Cyprus.
