Annan thanked Papadopoulos for his letter of 7 June 2004, about his report on his good offices mission on Cyprus, dated 28 May 2004, and for their meeting of 3 June 2004. ''As you will have inferred from my report, I take a different view from you on most of the ground covered in you letter and its annex,'' Annan said. ''I do stand fully by my report, including the narrative and the analysis contained therein, the appeals I have formulated and the recommendations I have put forward, to which I hope the Greek Cypriot side will respond positively,'' he added. During the evening and dawn there may be localized mist in some areas as well as patches of fog and low cloud over the coast. Winds during the day will be mainly southwesterly to westerly, gentle in the early of the day and moderate later on. During the evening gentle, mainly northwesterly breezes will prevail. The state of the sea will be slight. Maximum temperatures 35C inland, 32C over the south coast, 28C over the west coast and 27C over the highest mountain areas. Invited to comment on a letter Kofi Annan sent to Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos as a reply to the letter Papadopoulos had sent to him earlier this month, with his remarks on Annan's report, Chrysostomides said the reply by the Secretary General was self-explanatory. ''It seems that he stands by his position. But we also stand by our views as regards the comments on the Secretary General's report, the views of those who drafted the report,'' he added. Chrysostomides described as satisfactory paragraph 26 of the European Council draft conclusions which says ''the European Council invites Turkey to conclude negotiations with the Commission on behalf of the Community and its 25 Member States on the adaptation of the Ankara Agreement to take account of the accession of the new Member States.''
