Gathering in Nicosia expresses solidarity with Palestinians
Nicosia, May 22 (CNA) - A gathering took place in Nicosia's main square
last night to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and to
deplore the ''continuing criminal policy'' of the state of Israel
against the Palestinians.
The demonstration was organised by the Pancyprian Peace Council in
cooperation with leftwing political party AKEL, and was attended by
AKEL's General Secretary Demetris Christofias, members of parliament,
the party's youth and women's groups, and representatives from trade
union PEO, the Palestinian Authority delegation to Cyprus and other
organisations.
