    Weather forecast for Cyprus

    Nicosia, Apr 5 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 06/04/2004 to 07/04/2004 -------------------- On Tuesday, the weather will be fine with occasional high cloud. The winds will be north to northwest light to fresh and the sea slight to moderate. Temperatures will range from 6 to 21 inland and from 9 to 21 on the coast.

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 08/04/2004 to 09/04/2004 ------------------------------ The weather will be mainly fine with some high cloud at times. Winds remaining ligh to fresh and temperatures on the rise.

    US Ambassador: Cypriots will decide in a referendum

    Athens, Apr 5 (CNA) -- US Ambassador to Greece Tomas Miller has said that the people of Cyprus will make a decision in a referendum later this month with regard to a UN plan on a comprehensive settlement.

    He said he was the type of person who would look at things from a positive angle and cautioned against any premature predictions about the outcome of the vote on April 24.

    Nicosia, April 5 (CNA) European People's Pary-European Democrats Group leader Hans-Gert Poettering said it was up to the free will of the people of Cyprus to vote in favour of the Annan Plan for a comprehensive settlement to the Cyprus problem.

    Greek and Turkish Cypriot parties discuss islands future

    Nicosia, Apr 5 (CNA) Greek and Turkish Cypriot political parties exchanged views on the Annan plan, a UN proposal for a comprehensive settlement, which will be put to separate but simultaneous referenda to the two communities on 24 April, a joint communique said after a joint meeting the parties held today, under the auspices of the Slovakian embassy.
