    Cypriot President in Athens for talks on Cyprus

    Larnaca, Mar 14 (CNA) - Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos flew to Athens last night for talks today with newly elected Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis, President Constantinos Stephanopoulos and the opposition leaders, to discuss the latest developments in the Cyprus problem.

    Speaking on departure from Larnaca Airport, President Papadopoulos said the UN have realised that talks in their current form to solve the Cyprus problem were leading nowhere and that the two sides where just exchanging documents and explaining their positions.

    Cyprus to observe 3-minute's silence in memory of Madrid victims

    Nicosia, Mar 14 (CNA) - The Cypriot government has called on the people of Cyprus to observe three minutes' silence tomorrow in memory of the victims of Thursday's Madrid bombings, as a gesture of support to the Spanish people and a condemnation of terrorism.

    Athens and Nicosia agree on handling of Cyprus problem

    Athens, Mar 14 (CNA) - Greek Prime Minister Constantinos Karamanlis reiterated today the Greek government's support to the efforts of the Cypriot government to reach a Cyprus settlement.

    Speaking after two hours of talks in Athens with Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos, Karamanlis said they agreed on the further handling of the issue.
