Nicosia, Jan 17 (CNA) -- Cyprus Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yiorgos Lillikas, leaves today for Japan, where he will pay an official visit, at the invitation of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Nicosia, Jan 17 (CNA) -- Cyprus Minister of Foreign Affairs Georgios Iacovou expressed the view that there are now prospects to solve the Cyprus issue, noting that without a solution Turkey should forget its European prospect.

Greek main opposition leader Karamanlis to visit Cyprus

Nicosia, Jan 17 (CNA) --- Greek main opposition leader, New Democracy Party President Costas Karamanlis, will visit Cyprus 20 and 21 January at the invitation of Cyprus' right- wing party Democratic Rally (DISY).

During his two - day visit on the island, Karamanlis will be received by President of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos and have separate meetings with House President Demetris Christofias and political party leaders.

Cypriot parliamentary delegation meets with Castro

Havana, Jan 17 (CNA) --- A Cypriot parliamentary delegation, headed by House President Demetris Christofias, was received here yesterday by leader of Cuba Fidel Castro.

During the meeting, that lasted more than one hour, Castro was briefed by Christofias on the recent developments in the Cyprus issue, as well as on the island's accession to the EU.

The Cypriot delegation paid an official visit to Cuba, at the invitation of President of Cuban National Assembly, Ricardo Alarcon.

Castro expressed the wish that Cyprus' ''very important'' problems will be soon solved.
