President calls on Turkey to help resumption of talks
Nicosia, Dec 24 (CNA) -- President Tassos Papadopoulos has called on
Ankara to clarify its position on the question of Cyprus to enable the
Turkish Cypriot side return to the negotiating table, with a view at
finding a settlement on the basis of a UN peace proposal.
''We want to see Turkey clarifying its position on Cyprus and we hope
this will lead Rauf Denktash or anybody else who might be our
interlocutor back to the negotiating table so that peace talks can
resume on the basis of Kofi Annan's plan,'' the President said.
