    Nicosia, Nov 21 (CNA) -- Cyprus Communications and Works Minister Kikis Kazamias announced here Friday that the preferred bidder to build and operate Larnaca and Paphos international airports with the Building, Operating and Transferring method (BOT) is the Alterra Consortium.

    United Nations, Nov 22 (CNA) - The UN Security Council in a draft resolution to be adopted on Monday decides to extend the mandate of UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), for a period ending 15 June 2004.

    The Security Council also "welcomes the report of the Secretary General of 12 November 2003 on the UN operation in Cyprus, and in particular the call to the parties to assess and address the humanitarian issue of missing persons with due urgency and seriousness".

    Cyprus FM condemns new terrorist attacks in Constantinople

    Nicosia, Nov 22 (CNA) -- Cyprus' Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the new terrorist attacks on Thursday at Constantinople (Istanbul) against the headquarters of London-based HSBC Bank and the British consulate, which "resulted in the loss of innocent lives, and the wounding of hundreds of civilians''.
