Brussels Oct 18 - Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos has welcomed the Italian Presidency's initiative to promote development and competitiveness of the European Union economy.

Christodoulou:Economic figures do not justify change in interest rates

Nicosia, Oct 18 (CNA) -- Cyprus Central Bank Governor Christodoulos Christodoulou announced here Friday that the Monetary Policy Committee has decided that the key official interest rates, namely the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility, would remain unchanged at 4,50% and 2,50% respectively.
